SPARC to host “Assault on Democracy” event April 16

Sun Prairie Action Resource Coalition (SPARC) will host a meeting of regional movers & shakers on April 16 from 12-3 pm at the Westside Community Service Building in Sun Prairie, and all are welcome to attend.  The Progressive Partners of the 2nd Congressional District is a coalition of regional grassroots groups that meets quarterly to share ideas, discuss strategies for working together to promote democracy and strong communities, and to hear special guest speakers on a variety of topics. The event is FREE and open to all.  RSVP today!

Matt Rothschild: “Democracy should not be a game that only the wealthiest people and corporations can play.”

 

The April 16 event will feature a special presentation from Matthew Rothschild, Executive Director of the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign.  Matt will speak on “The Assault on Democracy in Wisconsin,” sharing his research and investigations into how money corrupts and influences politics, and what we can do about it at the local level.

1-2      Progressive Partners meeting
2-3     Special guest presentation: Matt Rothschild

WHERE: Westside Community Service Building, 2598 W Main St, Sun Prairie, WI 53590  MAP

WHO: Members of all groups connected through the Progressive Partners of the 2nd Congressional District and those who would like to learn more or get involved. ALL ARE WELCOME!

WHAT TO BRING (optional): Feel free (but not obligated) to bring a dish, beverage, or dessert to share.  SPARC will provide the main dish (meat and vegetarian chili) and tableware (plates, bowls, cups, napkins, cutlery).  Note: Alcoholic beverages are not permitted at the Westside Community Service Building. Tax-deductible donations to the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, will also be accepted at the event.
