If you’ve been looking for a way to get more involved in moving Sun Prairie forward, here are two great opportunities!
The Sun Prairie City Council will take applications from persons interested in filling the vacancy in District 4 that was created when Dave Carlson resigned recently. Council members serve a pivotal role in making local decisions and this vacancy is a critical one! If you know someone who would be an effective community leader – or if you’d like to step up yourself – check out the application! District 4 is generally the northwest area of Sun Prairie. Here is a link to the city map (look for aldermanic districts on right column and click that): http://webmaps.cityofsunprairie.com/.
Most council seats are won through elections, but this vacancy will be appointed by the council and all you need to do to apply is write a letter of application. Deadline is Sept. 27. Here’s the link: http://www.cityofsunprairie.com/applicants-sought-district-4-city-council-vacancy.
In addition, the Sun Prairie School Board is looking for 3 citizen representatives to serve on the Planning Committee and Performance & Operations Committee. Each committee meets once a month, and the appointment is for two years. Deadline for applications in Sept. 17.
This is a great opportunity to be part of the conversation that puts students first in education and moves our community forward by working together. Check out the call for representatives here and please consider applying if education is an issue you care about: http://www.sunprairie.k12.wi.us/district/ads-citizen%20rep%202%2013.pdf.
